An Attitude of Gratitude–Take 2
Hello family and friends,
As I enter into this second month of “An Attitude of Gratitude” I realize how quickly and easily a grateful and thankful heart can be distracted by the “noise” of the physical world. You can’t turn on the television, the computer or the radio (let’s not even mention social media) without your positivity taking a nose dive into the proverbial toilet. When Louis Armstrong recorded “What a Wonderful World” he was questioned by some who asked…”what do you mean what a wonderful world?” People cited wars, violence, pollution, hunger… and his response “…Seems to me It ain’t the world that’s so bad, it’s what we’re doing to it”.
What does this have to do with me? I realized in order to maintain a grateful and thankful heart, I have to focus on the positive. Yes, I understand I cannot ignore all the “noise” of the physical world, and yes, where I have control and ability to make a positive difference I need to act. But, in the negative situations that are beyond my purview I have to turn my attention to all that is right in the world. I leave you with the great Louis Armstrong – listen and reflect. Many heartfelt thanks to our Veterans and Happy Thanksgiving to All.

“Veterans Day is a U.S. legal holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars, and Veterans Day 2018 occurs on Sunday, November 11. In 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in World War I, then known as “the Great War.” Commemorated in many countries as Armistice Day the following year, November 11th became a federal holiday in the United States in 1938. In the aftermath of World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became known as Veterans Day” (History.com). Read further here
