An Attitude of Gratitude

As we spring into Fall I turn my focus to the topic of gratitude. October has always been a bitter-sweet month for me. October is my birthday month (YEAH) and a time for celebration and re-creation.  October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month.   I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October many years ago.  I later received a clean bill of health following a series of treatments and surgery and for that I am SO VERY GRATEFUL!

Yes, October is a time of great reflection for me and a perfect time to turn my thoughts to the many blessings I received and continue to experience each and every day.  Today I choose gratitude because no matter how dark the clouds, how deep the canyon, how wide the river, there is a blessing  (usually countless blessings) to be grateful for.

In closing, a big HIGH FIVE to all my sister survivors.  I will see you in November.  Until then, check out some of the proven benefits of gratitude at the link below and join me in an attitude of gratitude.

“Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492, and Columbus Day 2018 occurs on Monday, October 8. It was unofficially celebrated in a number of cities and states as early as the 18th century, but did not become a federal holiday until 1937. For many, the holiday is a way of both honoring Columbus’ achievements and celebrating Italian-American heritage”.(History.com)

In honor of Columbus Day there are always many sales to check out, whether for big ticket items or everyday needs. Take a look below for tips on what you can expect from Columbus Day sales this season, and what is worth spending your money on this month.
