Greetings Family and Friends,

I did it…spent vacation being present and living in the moment. Well, you don’t really have a choice when you are with your husband, your mom, your children and grandchildren. Even when there wasn’t anything going on, there was a lot going on as you can imagine. At one point it felt as though I was herding cats. Getting everyone on the same page, out the door to planned events and meals was a task in and of itself but we had a blast. You know you had a good vacation when you come home from one, needing another. I was able to introduce my family to Puckett’s’ Barbeque and all of Nashville’s history and night life. While in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge we went to the Dolly Parton Stampede and were successful in making sure each adventure was an enjoyable one for all.

Is it now time to change gears and look forward to Fall? Do we really have to? NO, WE DON’T. Though the calendar still says Summer many of you are spending this weekend wrapping up warm weather activities, NOT SO FAST I say. (That reminds me of my favorite Taxi episode…”what does a yellow light mean?” SLOW DOWN.) Let’s milk this season for all its worth. Retailers tend to rush things along for us but that doesn’t mean we have to fall (no pun intended) for their shenanigans…NOPE! Let’s keep our minds on summer at least through the end of September before setting our sights on fresh pressed apple cider, hot lattes and pumpkin rolls.
